He soon realized that ITAM would be the key to fulfilling his goal. The path was difficult since he comes from an ambitious family with sisters who are equally determined. However, his outstanding academic performance and mathematical knowledge led him to be accepted to ITAM\u2019s undergraduate program in actuarial science and applied mathematics with a scholarship covering a portion of his tuition. <\/span><\/p><div class=\"mundo-contenido\" style=\"margin-top: 20px;margin-bottom: 20px;\" id=\"mundo-2709557832\"><style type=\"text\/css\">\r\n .ad-square h3 { \r\n\tfont-size: 11px;\r\n    font-weight: 300;\r\n    letter-spacing: 2.3px;\r\n    color: #6a6c6e;\r\n    font-weight: normal;\r\n    margin: 18px 0;  \r\n\tfont-family: \"Lato\", \"Helvetica Neue\", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;\r\n\t}\r\n<\/style>\r\n\r\n<!--<center> <div class=\"ad-square\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>ANUNCIO<\/h3>\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/noche.itam.mx\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/mundoitam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/noche-itam-v2.png\" alt=\"Anuncio\" style=\"border: none; display: block;\"><\/a>\r\n\r\n<\/div> <\/center>--><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In his third semester at ITAM, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/donar.itam.mx\/es\/beca-rurik-magos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Rurik Magos scholarship<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> selection committee also awarded him a scholarship of $2,500 pesos monthly to cover his expenses (books, transportation, and food), thus allowing him to devote himself completely to his studies and fully appreciate firsthand ITAM community\u2019s generosity and commitment to their students. \u00a0Emilio was then awarded the FUSE exchange scholarship for his outstanding grade point average during his eight semesters at ITAM. This scholarship was created in 2017 by alumni who wanted to award an outstanding student with the financing necessary to experience an exchange program abroad. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>FUSE Scholarship Meets its Goals<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Emilio\u2019s adventure started last November. Among the many challenges he faced were filling for his visa and passport, as well as gathering documents and going for interviews regarding them. He also was required to send in admission applications and paperwork, as well as taking admission exams for the <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.exeter.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Exeter<\/a> in the United Kingdom<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, his university of choice. Picture: cortesy of student<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After successfully overcoming many challenges and obstacles, Emilio arrived at Mexico City\u2019s airport, with the support of Aerom\u00e9xico, full of emotion and enthusiasm to embark on this great adventure that the FUSE scholarship provided him. Amidst the tears and hugs from his family, they wished him well and gave him advice for his journey. Emilio embarked on his international journey excited for what the future had to hold. At ITAM, we believe that these experiences enrich our students\u2019 academic, cultural, and personal background.
