The 2024 Bootcamp : Entrepreneurship & Innovation was a two week transformational experience. Organized by the entrepreneurship center at ITAM, EPIC Lab, used the 24 steps methodology developed by Bill Aulet, director of the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship.. Jenny Larios Berlín, Entrepreneur in Residence at the Martin Trust Center, led the teaching of this innovative technology. Besides, 33 experts in development in the Mexican and Latin American entrepreneur landscape shared their knowledge through teaching sessions, talks, workshops and panels.
Mentorship and participation
A total of 64 students of different universities and high schools joined the bootcampers community. Combining their talents and passions, developed 13 innovative projects. All through the program, they received the support of 32 mentors. These mentors helped strengthen their business models and transform their ideas in viable realities.
Bootcamp objectives
The bootcamp objective is providing the participants with the tools, knowledge and skills needed to identify and evaluate business opportunities. They formed interuniversity and multidisciplinary teams, promoting collaboration and idea exchange. Besides the intense work sessions, the participants enjoyed integration activities like spinning and yoga. These activities fostered a spirit of community and wellbeing.
Demo Day
The finish line of the program was the Demo Day, that took place on june 22nd. The entrepreneurs presented their projects with passion and professionalism before a panel of 8 distinguished juries. The winner team, Xiwi, dazzled with their Climatech & Biotech project: a oxygen generator, fed by CO2, through spirulina biotechnology.
Xiwi, the winner team, was formed by Jorge Daniel Lafarga Axotla, ITAM student; Fernando Vega Roque, ITAM student; Emmanuel Garcés Rojas, student of the Chemistry Faculty at UNAM, and Paola Castañeda Morales, also a member of the same faculty.
An inspiring success.
The Entrepreneurship & Innovation 2024 Bootcamp not only was a success, but also an inspiration source for all the participants. It boosted the development of innovating projects, fostering an environment of joint collaboration and learning.
