Due to COVID-19, since March 2020, ITAM had to close its doors physically to the community and move to an online modality, to protect their health. Nevertheless, the concern for the physical wellbeing of the students did not decrease, and in December of the same year was announced the creation of a new recreational and sports space available for the student community.
It is called Velaria’s Park, and it’s a magnific area of 2,500 square meters that has a running track, several multipurpose rooms -which can be used for sports and cultural activities such as yoga or ITAM Music- as well as an outdoor area with exercise equipment and an area specialized in CrossFit.
The project, developed by the architects Sara Topelson and José Grinberg, will facilitate that students can exercise and have a place to develop their creativity and their body.
All these facilities are located on the campus of the Institute and have locker and shower services so that students can exercise comfortably at the time that suits them and can easily return to their classes.
